I have to admit I’m just a tad- well extremely excited for this post. One of my favorite types of shoot to photograph is couples- dating, married, engaged; you name it. I just love- LOVE. There is also a tenderness and sweetness that comes along with couples and I can’t wait to capture it. Needless to say, Bethany & Nick did not let me down when it came to cuteness and sincerity this past weekend during their engagement session. Years ago, Bethany and I grew up in the same church and through the wonderful recommendation of her cousin, Christy, contacted me about her wedding next year. We met up this past weekend at the Elkins Estate and the backdrop was perfect, especially with the warm, yummy sunlight prior to sunset. The highlight for me was catching just a small glimpse of Nick and Bethany’s, love for each other. There was definitely no shortness of laughter or joy between the two. I can’t wait until your wedding next February. It is going to be blast!!! Happy Viewing Friends!
A few weeks ago I mentioned that I had recently joined a non-profit organization called Operation: Love Reunited. As a member of the organization I am privileged to photograph some of our nations great heroes who serve our country both here and oversees. Little did I know when I agree to it how blessed I would become.
Two weeks ago I teamed up with Joe, Jo Anna, and their two little ones right before Joe’s deployment to capture the love and joy that they have for one another. During the session I was overwhelmed by the sacrifice that this family and many others have made for my freedom. Though it was chilly day, the little ones were troopers and we resulted in only a few runny noses. Joe & Jo Anna, thank for you all you do. I was so excited to be able to work with you and enjoy your precious little girls for the afternoon.
Spread the word about Op:Love to anyone you know that might benefit.
Had my first Operation Love: Reunited Session this weekend and could not wait to share it with you. Here is a teaser of this sweet Daddy and his two girls. Just couldn’t decide which of the two to post.
I told you there was going to be a big announcement over on the blog this week…so here it goes
There’s a Bun in the Oven here @ Heather Marie Portraits!!!!
In case you were suspicious of the inactivity on the blog the past few months- here is the other part of your answer. I am expecting and oh so excited- minus the constant nausea, ever full bladder, and awful heartburn. I’m not complaining am I? Joel and are preparing to welcome Baby Craven into the world around August 15th, 20011 and are so blessed to become parents. We are both nervous, but trust that God will prepare us with his grace and mercy as we embark on this new journey together. I’m also excited to share in this journey with you as fans.
This also means that maternity leave will come at the worst possible time for photo season. Sadly, I’ve already had to turn down some weddings, but know there is hope for you!!! I will be going on leave starting the beginning of July and plan to start booking sessions again for mid to late September. This means two things
1. Don’t wait until July to book your session- I am available from now through June for your portrait needs- engagements, families, newborns, SENIORS!!!!!
2. I will be back in time for those late summer and fall shoots that many of you love. Don’t think I’m going to skip out on you this year.
Since I am 2-3 months shorter in my photo season this year, don’t wait until the last minute to set up your session.
Another change going on around here is the new emphasis on Newborn Portraits. I have always loved photographing these precious little ones, but am even more excited to share in this joy with you. If you are expecting or know someone that is, take advantage of this offer for 15% off Newborn sessions or Baby’s First Year sessions through August. These can be purchased as shower gifts too. I’m sure the mom’s would love this opportunity to cherish there little one’s first days and months.
Be sure to check the blog in the next week for photos from my upcoming Operation Love Reunited Session!
It’s true….I’ve been hibernating most of this winter. I don’t usually go on such a long blog hiatus, but this winter has been full of changes. Over the past few months I’ve gotten the chance to spend lots of time with family, get some much needed rest, and work in front of the computer screen instead of behind a camera lens. I much prefer the latter.
I figured I’d update you with how Heather Marie Portraits has been expanding over the past months also. This past November, I had the opportunity to shoot school photos for a small private school in New Jersey as a test for some upcoming opportunities this Spring. It is both exciting and scary at he same time, but I pray it will bring a lot of growth to my business. I will primarily be working with small private schools in the PA area if any of you have connections and want to pass the name along.
Another exciting opportunity that I have recently embarked on is with an organization called Operation Love Reunited. OpLove: Reunited is a non profit organization made up of photographers all around the country who provide free photography sessions for military servicemen and women, pre-deployment, during deployment, or upon homecoming. I am looking forward to using my talents as a means of saying thank you to those who faithfully serve and defend our country daily. To find a photographer in your area or to recommend this opportunity to loved ones in the military head on over to their photographer finder. Of course if you are in the PA/NJ area you can always contact yours truly.
I will also be looking forward to some upcoming photo shoots this Spring. There is still time to schedule Mother’s Day Sessions or perhaps purchase a gift card. What mom wouldn’t love an update family portrait or album of her loved ones.
Stay tuned for some exciting posts coming in the next week. You won’t be disappointed.
